We detest Hatchet 3

Hatchet 3 is the 2013 horror film of the Hatchet series. It follows the continuing adventures of Victor Crowley and his murderous rampage through Honey Island Swamp in Louisiana. Kane Hodder plays Victor Crowley, Brian Quinn portrays Deputy Winslow, Rileah vanderbilt portrays Misty.

The practical effects in the film are the film's greatest strength. Hatchet 3 is a horror movie that uses CG effects in a lesser degree than other films. Hatchet 3 has a number of makeup effects that are practical and sets that result in some truly terrifying scenes in the movie.

The cast is strong, with Kane Hodder proving to be an intimidating villain. The (click now to read blog post) dialogue is so funny and cheeky that it could feel like a classic '80s horror movie. Additionally, there are certain moments of genuine comedy throughout that provide comedic contrast to the gut-wrenching action on screen.

Due to the budget being small (1 million dollars) most locations were duplicates of earlier films. Hatchet 2's boat house was only used once and the rest of the footage feels like it's been reused from earlier films. The Hatchet and Hatchet 2 films may feel like it's a familiar film.

Overall, I was impressed by Hatchet 3 even though it felt very similar to prior entries in this series--it provided lots of bloody thrills as well as entertaining performances from its cast members.
